Biography

Dr Fabian M. Mashauri is currently an Acting Deputy Executive Secretary/Principal Health Officer working at the East African Health Commission (EAHRC), heading the department of Research Innovation and Development. He is a PhD holder in Medical parasitology received at the University of the Ryukyus, Japan. He has two decades of experience working on malaria epidemiology and control in Tanzania. He has contributed to policy development and practice to accelerate malaria vector control in Tanzania.

As a researcher, he has helped to develop a strong research capacity in Tanzania and East Africa as well. He has published a number of papers in peer-reviewed journals. He is currently focused on the application of digital health technology to strengthen healthcare services in East Africa cross border sites. Dr Mashauri is also a Deputy Chief-in-Editor of the East African Health Research Journal, which is owned by the EAHRC.
