Biography

Ng’ang’a Murima is currently a PhD. Epidemiology candidate at the Institute of Tropical Medicine and Infectious Diseases (ITROMID), Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). Murima holds a Postgraduate Cert. in Statistics from the University of Reading, MSc. in Research Methods and a BSc. Botany (Microbiology) from JKUAT as well as a BSc. in Community Health & Development from Great Lakes University of Kisumu. He serves as an entomologist/epidemiologist at the Ministry of Health, Kenya. He also serves as a facilitator for WHO|TDR Structured Operational Research and Training Initiative (SORT IT). His core competencies include data analysis as well as the application of GIS and remote sensing in health research. His research interests are in poverty-related diseases particularly neglected tropical diseases and vector-borne diseases.
