REMA Hospital is an establishment created and managed by Maison Shalom. It was inaugurated on January 22, 2008, and plays a vital role at the heart of Burundi's health system. It contributes greatly to the progress made in the Ruyigi region. Moreover, by offering multiple jobs, he participates in the economic development of the city.

Theoretically, the target population of the Hospital is that of the Ruyigi health district estimated at 106184 people in 2012. However, the reality is different and this figure is largely underestimated. In addition to the province of Ruyigi, REMA Hospital welcomes many patients from other provinces of east-central Burundi.
