The National Association of Support for HIV-positive and AIDS patients, "ANSS" in acronym, was created in 1993 by a group of people who aimed to defend the rights of people infected and / or affected by HIV / AIDS. It was approved by Ministerial Order No. 205.01 / 184 of October 4, 1993. ANSS was the first structure to provide comprehensive care for PLHIV including their initiation of antiretroviral treatment (ARV) in Burundi. She was also the first to set up a therapeutic education of the patient through the cell of compliance.   Mission
ANSS's mission is "to promote the prevention of HIV / AIDS transmission and to improve the well-being of those infected and / or affected by HIV / AIDS". Thus, it provides global and family care for people infected and / or affected by HIV, people with disabilities and homosexuals since 2009 in its daily activities.
