About us

The Prince Regent Charles Hospital is a gift from Prince Regent Charles of Belgium, a colonizing country of Burundi. It was offered in 1949 after two years of construction to help the indigenous people gain access to care.   It was a public hospital until 1992 when it became a Custom Administration of the State (APE) with management autonomy entrusted to a team of directors acting under the supervision of the Board of Directors.
