About us

Matibabu Foundation Kenya (MF-K) is constantly evolving to meet the needs of the communities we serve. Originally established in 2001 as Community Support Group (CSG), founder Daniel Ogola wanted to find ways to address the joblessness, poverty and disease that muted the productivity of women and youth in Kibera, Nairobi’s largest slum.

Soon realizing that many of the problems in Kibera stemmed from the high rate of jobless youth migrating from Nyanza and Western Provinces of Kenya, Mr. Ogola expanded CSG’s activities to Ugenya, Nyanza Province in 2003. With a focus on strengthening capacity and broadening community coverage, the Community Support Groups were transformed into Matibabu Foundation-Kenya.

To achieve this transformation, Mr. Ogola joined hands with Patrick Amenya, Christopher Owang’, Benta Amenya, Benedict Osieyo, Paul Njihia and Dr. Gail Wagner. Matibabu Foundation–Kenya is an NGO registered under section 10 of the NGO Coordination Act, certificate number OP.218/051/2006/007/3892 dated 15th March 2006.
